The purpose of the site is to showcase what the internet and the web is about and more importantly what is contains. Everyone talks and refers to the World Wide Web, everyone knows what the World Wide Web is, but there doesn’t appear to be an encompassing enough site which carries its name. Let us say before you start shouting! Yes there is the World Wide Web Consortium site, but that is more about technology and standards and it does not actively showcase the users of the web and internet. There are the likes of Google, Yahoo, and MSN that do showcase the users, but these do not carry the World Wide Web name, anyhow we think that people being able to say that they are on the World Wide Web homepage has a bit of a ring to it.

Are you anything to do with the World Wide Web Consortium?

No...! We are not; we are a totally independent site, and there is no affiliation whatsoever. However that does not stop us from being respectful to the name of our site and what the World Wide Web Consortium stands for.

Every website has a homepage which provides details and access to the rest of that particular website. We wanted to provide the World Wide Web with a Homepage, and people the opportunity to be part of it, or should the opportunity to be on it.

As you already know we have a directory section which will help to create awareness for us and those who submit to our site. But as time moves on, and the site becomes better known, the plan is to develop further additions to the site, such as its own blogging section, its own articles submission section, its own video streaming section, its own business and social networking sections, its own forum sections, to name but a few.

We wanted to see if the concept would work first, as you know there are literally millions of websites out there trying to get noticed and our site is no different. If you like what we are trying to do then submit to us as well as telling a friend.

We have tried to make this as easy as possible; you need to click on the ‘submit’ link which can be found at the bottom of the site and on the directory search page. Fill out all the appropriate details many of which are mandatory and be sure to select the most appropriate category and sub category for your placement. Prior to final submission you will be asked to check your details including the title and description which you have entered, please ensure that details are correct including spelling.

Prior to final submission you will be asked to double check your details including your detailed description, this is the only opportunity you will have to make amendments.

As we want to be able to show a vast majority of what’s available via the internet, we have provided certain categories to take account of listing that perhaps may not be considered to be correct and proper websites. However such listings must be allocated to the most suitable category and sub category as well as adhering fully to our listing guidelines.

If you cannot find a suitable category, please feel free to contact us with your suggestion, we will let you know by email if your suggestion has been accepted and subsequently added to our site at which point you will be able to submit your details. If you do not hear from us your suggestion will have been unsuccessful.

Currently we offer two listing options, one is a free listing and the other is paid listing level.

The amount of content allowed to be submitted for each listing is the same, however in all cases paid listings will always appear before free listings no matter which category or sub category is searched.

Yes you can it’s up to you what you decide to put in your title (within reason) no foul, vulgar; or obscenities text will be allowed. The aim is for people to find you via normal search engine optimisation, so using your company name or URL is not always the best solution as users would need to know these in the first place to be able to find you.

No it will not, each and every listing submitted to us will be checked to insure that details are correct and that they meet our listing guidelines. Upon checking the listing will either be approved or rejected.

Should your listing be a paid listing and it is not approved, an opportunity will be provided to you only once in order for you to make amendments so that it meets with our listing guidelines. Cases where the listing is a free listing, and not approved will simply be deleted without further communication.

We will endeavour to process all submitted listings in a quick and timely manner, we will address all submitted listings within a 72 hour period within normal office hours, and for those approved they will be made active within this time scale for those not approved will take extra time dependant on course of action required.

Your listing will have been rejected as it does not meet with our listings guidelines, and we will have given you a second opportunity in making amends to your listing in order to allow it to be included within our site. Our guidelines are quite straight forward and easy to understand therefore if you’re listing is rejected for a second time no further appeals are permitted, and no refunds should the listing be a paid listing. As there is a certain amount of administration time involved in checking all submitted listings and we think it only fair that a charge be made once a second opportunity has been given for amendments.

If you have opted for a paid listing you will get a confirmation receipt direct from paypal.

If your listing has been accepted it will remain active with the following exceptions:
  • We cannot be held responsible for failure in up time due to circumstances beyond our control.
  • Should it be identified that the URL destination which was approved has been changed at a later date without our approval will mean that the listing will be deleted without further consultation and if a paid listing no refund will be due?

Yes you can apply again, so long as it meets with our listing guidelines and if a paid listing payment is received by us there should be no problem.

We have limited opportunities at present but as the site develops there will all most undoubtedly be further advertising opportunities.

If you submitting a paid listing your payment will be by credit or debit card via Paypal, unfortunately at present we do not offer any additional payment facilities.

Yes of course you can, should you require us to remove your listing please send us an email requesting us to remove your listing, we will reply to the asking for deletion confirmation and upon reply to that email we will delete your listing.

If we haven't answered your question then please get in touch, we'll answer your query as quickly as possible.
